MEMORIES
of the Ones That We Have Loved
I stood by your bed last nite, I came to have a peep
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear
Its me, I have not left you, I am well, I am fine, I am here.
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour your tea
You were thinking of the many times you reached your hands to me.
I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care
I want to re-assure you, that I am not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your keys
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said " Its Me ".
Its possible for me to be so near you everyday
To say to you with certainty, " I Never Went Away ".
The day is over...I smile and watch you yawning
And say good nite, God Bless, I will see you in the morning.
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief devide
I will rush across to greet you and we will stand Side by Side.
If I had known on that day our time was near the end
I would have done things differently, My Forever Friend.
I would have stayed with you deep into the night
But I thought I would see you again in the morning light.
But if I had known that night our time was at end
I would have done things so differently, My Forever Friend.
There are no words to eplain the feelings of him being gone...There are no words to speak of how much he meant to us.
Duese was a very loyal dog. He wanted to be at my side in every thing that I did. Even though he could not, he would stress himself to try. He was my shadow...my partner...my protector. My Protector is so true. My husband was deployed to Iraq and to my unbelief Duese knew that he was the man of the house and had to protect it. He never showed agressiveness towards anyone until that time. While Kirk was gone he did not want anyone here that he did not know.
He was also my Friend. He was there for me in all situations. He gave Unconditional Love at all times.
He was such a big part of our Family and there is an emptiness in our Home and in our Hearts.
REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND

Here is a Poem that really touched my Heart that I wanted to share with you.
A Dog for Jesus...
I wish someone had given Jesus a dog as loyal and loving as mine
To sleep in his manger and gaze in his eyes and adore him for being divine.
As he grew to manhood his faithful dog would have followed him all through the day
While he preached to the crowds and made the sick well and knelt in the garden to Pray.
It is sad to remember that Christ went away to face death alone and apart
With no tender dog following close behind to comfort his masters heart.
And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn, how happy he would have been
As his dog kissed his hand and barked his delight for the one who died for all men.
Well, the Lord has a dog now, I Just Sent Him Mine, the friend that was so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this day alone, knowing he is in eternity.
Day after Day, the whole day through, wherever my road inclined
Four feet said "Wait, I am coming with you!" and trotted along behind.
